A STEP BACKWARDS

A little background
I opened JavaJane Jewelry on etsy on November 14, 2012
I have 117 items for sale
Sold 5 items (one to my mom)
Have 1 feedback (from my mom, sad but true)
95 followers, following 195
40 admirers
19 tweeters following me
134 facebook fans

There is lots of room for improvement here and to tell it honestly... when I first opened my shop I had about 10 items listed and was shocked that nobody was buying from me. (naive, I know) I was like this is great stuff, good prices. I couldn't get anyone to look at it. Where was everyone looking? So I didn't post anymore stuff for a while and didn't do much for about 5 months. Then I started reading the etsy forums and watching the videos and jumped in again with a much clearer head.

There are 5,513,656 Jewelry items on etsy right now.

I was getting about 2 -6 page views a day. Posting one item every day and getting hits only just after posting then nothing else for the rest of the day. This is work, and hard work.

  1. Hi there. Katt from Scrapnkitty's Scraps. I just wanted to say, don't be afraid to ask your buyers for feedback. Sometimes they don't know that it's there, and it can really hurt your reputation if you have more sales than feedback. So send a little note to your previous buyers, maybe a coupon code for free shipping or 10% off an order just to get them to leave the feed back and that you would love to have the repeat business. Just an idea.
